Dear SPC parents and families:

I pray this communication finds you well and enjoying the blessings of the Summer!

Many of you may have seen or heard about a Facebook post indicating that without raising $70,000, St. Peter Claver School would not open for the coming school year. We want to assure you that this is not the case. Our doors will open to welcome your children for the 2018-2019 school year. We are looking forward to this year with the new hope that each school year brings as we work to provide a safe environment for your child to grow in knowledge and in faith.

We can confirm, however, that SPC faces a deficit. We are working with parish leadership and the Archdiocese of New Orleans Office of Catholic Schools to address the deficit and work towards a plan for the future. The plan will include outreach to alumni and local business leaders who may feel connected to and want to give to St. Peter Claver’s mission. Our goal is to raise enough funds to balance the budget moving into the 2018-2019 school year.

Once again, St. Peter Claver School will be open for the 2018-2019 school year. Your child’s Catholic education is our top priority, and we are grateful for the trust you have put in us to educate your child’s mind and soul to be a leader of tomorrow. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact one of us directly.

May God’s blessings be with you and your families through the summer, and we look forward to seeing you in August for the new school year.
