The Education Commission is responsible for promoting the teaching mission of the Church and for building community and fellowship.  This commission enables the community to experience and give witness to concrete examples of African-American Catholic values and principles.  The branches of this commission are Adult Faith Formation, Baptism Preparation, R.C.I.A., Elementary and High School Religious Education, Vacation Bible Study, Adult Bible Study, School Board and Youth Ministry.

Parishioners interested in shaping the direction of Education in the parish are welcomed to join the Commission.

  • Adult Faith Formation – Seasonal lectures and study groups around the Catechism of the Catholic Church; Lectionary Readings; Sacarmental; Church History, etc.
  • RCIA – Adult Initiation into the faith;
  • Baptism Preparation – Role of parents; role of god-parents; role of the community.
  • Adult Bible Study – Experiencing and discussing the Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth, (The BIBLE);
  • School Board – Educating and forming catholic students and their families.
  • Youth Ministry – High School Youth journeying in faith.
