St. Peter Claver Social Ministry Commission hosts a recent meeting of ACT – All Congregations Together – to protest blighted housing and nuisance businesses in the Treme community.
Development Commission
The Development Commission is a service group to the parish Pastoral Council and to other Commissions of the Council.
Education Commission
The Education Commission is responsible for promoting the teaching mission of the Church and for building community and fellowship.
Worship Commission
The Worship Commission promotes and strengthens the program of continuing liturgical renewal.
Social Ministry
The Christian Service Commission educates the congregation concerning the social ills of society and the economic, political structures within our community.
Family Commission
Family Life Commission helps all parishioners understand the importance of family (i.e., extended, church, local, community and global).
Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry is an important part of our parish life. Their goal is to provide an environment that encourages and supports the total growth of our youth: spiritual, personal/leadership and social development with a holistic and Africentric approach.
Bereavement Ministry
Bereavement ministry renders support to families who have experienced the loss of a loved one. We offer consolation through prayer, cards and special Eucharistic liturgies.
Care Ministry
Members visit and pray with our homebound parishioners, shut-ins in nursing facilities and in hospitals. Eucharistic Ministers bring the Holy Eucharist to those who desire it.
Marriage Enrichment Ministry
This ministry seeks to strengthen Christian marriages within our parish by upholding the Lord’s command, “what God has joined, let no one divide.”
Prison Ministry
Seeks to address the spiritual and emotional needs of incarcerated parishioners and their families as well as those parishioners who have been victims of crime.
Ministers of Hospitality
Ministers of Hospitality greet and welcome all who participate in our Eucharistic celebrations.
Tape Ministry
The tape ministry provides audio tapes of special services to the sick and shut-ins.
